Commercial Trucking Insurance

Private carriers are responsible for hauling goods in their own trucks for their employers. Whether you work in manufacturing, construction, or other private carrier capacity, we have a truck insurance policy that is right for you.

Primary Liability  Every trucking company/trucker who operates under their own authority must carry primary liability coverage on all units. They must also provide insurance for their leased vehicles or ensure that the leased operator carries it themselves. Typically, coverage for the leased operators is provided by the motor carrier, but there are occasions when this is not the case.

Cargo Insurance  Coverage for loss or damage to the property, or load, being transported by the truck.

Physical Damage  Coverage for replacement or repair for damage from covered losses to owned vehicles.

Occupational Accident  Designed specifically for owner operators in the trucking industry. In many states, it is possible for self-employed owner/operators to opt out of state mandated workers compensation coverage. Occ/acc is similar to workers’ compensation in both intent and scope. Leased operators are usually required to be covered either by occ/acc or workers compensation by their motor carriers. Occ/acc is generally a lower cost alternative for those who qualify.
